The Kolarian peoples — the first inhabitants

Pushed north out of the Indo-Gangetic plains, the Kolarian (Kol, Munda) peoples are the first population the sources name. Vedic literature calls them Dasas, Dasyus and Nishadas; later Puranic literature calls them Kinnaras, Nagas and Yakshas.

The usual sequence taught for HP is: Kols/Mundas → Kiratas (Mongoloid) → Aryans/Khasas.
