Raghunathji is brought to Kullu

Told that a brahmin of Tipri, Durga Dutt, had immolated himself and his family after a false accusation of hoarding pearls, Raja Jagat Singh was advised to expiate the sin by bringing an image of Raghunath from Ayodhya, installing it as the ruler of Kullu, and governing as its regent.

From this comes Kullu Dussehra, which begins on Vijaya Dashami — when Dussehra ends elsewhere — and runs for seven days, with the village deities of the valley assembling before Raghunathji.
