Beas Kund

Beas Kund, in the Solang side valley of Kullu just below Rohtang La, is the source of the Beas — the one of Himachal's five major rivers that both rises and runs almost entirely inside the state.

Every account of the Beas begins here, the way the Chandra and the Bhaga both begin at Baralacha La — the pass above it is remembered for the road into Lahaul, but for the river system what starts at this glacier is the more important fact.
