Chandra Nahan

Chandra Nahan, above Rohru in Shimla district, is the source of the Pabbar — the river of the Rohru–Pabbar valley that runs through the upper-Shimla apple belt. The glacial Chandra Nahan lake sits at its foot.

It lies outside the Chandra–Spiti belt that usually anchors questions on glacier retreat, but its recession matters just as much: the Pabbar's flow, and the apple-belt life that depends on it, trace back to this one glacier the way the bigger Lahaul rivers trace back to theirs.
