Chandra Tal

Chandra Tal, about 4,300 m in Lahaul, is the source of the Chandra, the eastern headwater of the Chenab, and lies just off Kunzum La, the pass between the Chandra valley and Spiti.
It was designated a Ramsar site in 2005 — one of the state's three, with Renuka and Pong — and is paired in this roster with Suraj Tal, on the far side of Baralacha La, as the source lakes of the Chandra and the Bhaga.
