Rewalsar (Tso Pema)

Rewalsar, in Mandi, is unusual among the state's lakes for being held sacred by three faiths at once — Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs. Its Buddhist name, Tso Pema, ties it to Padmasambhava, who is said to have left from here for Tibet.

The lake carries floating islands of vegetation, and it is counted, together with Paonta Sahib, among the state's principal Sikh sites.
