Vaid Surat Singh

Led the Pajhota agitation of 1942 in Sirmaur against the raja's support for the British war effort, with Laxmi Singh, Miyan Chuchu and Basti Ram Pahari. The slogan was 'Bhai do, na pai'. The movement kept the state administration out of the Pajhota area for several months and is treated as an extension of the Quit India Movement.
