Kugti Pass

Kugti Pass, 5,040 m in the Pir Panjal, links Bharmour in Chamba to Lahaul, and is best known as the traditional Gaddi migration route: the shepherds of Bharmour cross it, along with the Jalsu Pass, with their flocks each summer on the way to Lahaul's high pastures.

The Gaddi are transhumant shepherds of Bharmour and Kangra, devotees of Shiva, recognisable by the chola and the dora, the long woollen rope belt.
