A very small state near Shimla, remembered for one day: 16 July 1939, when the Rana's men fired on a Praja Mandal crowd at Halog, killing Durga Das (Uma Dutt by some accounts) — the first firing on a popular movement in the Himachal hills.
The immediate cause was the ban on the Dhami Prem Prachani Sabha and the arrest of Bhagmal Sautha, who was leading a procession to present demands to the Rana.
